About the position

American National is seeking a full-time FP&A Senior Analyst to join our team in League City, TX. In this role, you will play a crucial part in gathering financial projections from various teams and forecasting for the balance sheets. You will partner with the internal Actuarial team to conduct actual analysis and build models that enhance investment recommendations. To thrive in this position, you should be comfortable in an independent contributor role, possess a strong understanding of GAAP and/or statutory accounting principles, and have the ability to analyze financial statements to make sound endorsements based on your final analysis. As an FP&A Senior Analyst, you will partner with business units to deliver financial annual plans and quarterly forecasts that align with the company's long-term goals. Your responsibilities will include analyzing financial information (both GAAP and Stat), identifying trends and opportunities, and providing insights to various levels of management. You will also collaborate with Corporate Technology Services to enhance the planning process using technology, and develop driver-based models to automate and streamline financial processes, improving analysis turnaround times. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or actuarial science, along with a solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP and/or Stat). Experience with ERP and EPM software such as SAP BPC, Hyperion, Oracle, or OneStream is beneficial. Professional working experience in an accounting or financial planning environment, particularly within the insurance sector, is valuable. You should have the ability to read and interpret financial statements and share trends with the leadership team, as well as possess financial modeling or sensitivity analysis skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is essential for success in this role.
