About the position

The Senior FP&A Analyst at Vertiv Group Corporation is responsible for overseeing financial planning and analysis activities related to manufacturing projects. This role involves tracking project profitability, forecasting financial performance, and ensuring effective cost and inventory control. The position is integral to the financial operations within the Americas and will work closely with various teams to enhance financial processes and reporting accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the financial aspects of manufacturing projects.
  • Tracking and reporting the financial profitability.
  • Analyzing and monitoring actual costs, project budgets, and project tasks to ensure accurate cost allocation.
  • Ensuring revenue is timely and accurately processed.
  • Uncovering industry best practices in project administration and project planning controls.
  • Partnering with the shared services accounting team in the month-end close process and financial statement submissions.
  • Development of the annual financial plan, including standard labor and overhead rates, departmental spending, and capital budget.
  • Preparation of monthly financial forecasts.
  • Analyzing inventory balance sheet accounts and reserve reconciliations.
  • Coordinating and overseeing annual physical inventory.
  • Reviewing monthly financial statements prior to promotion.
  • Actively participating and initiating process improvements to organizational processes.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls and SOX compliance.
  • Assisting with internal and external audits.
  • Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Experience with financial reporting and compliance standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and complex formulas.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
