About the position

The ASIC & FPGA Design Engineer role involves developing, verifying, and documenting FPGA designs for the Department of Defense in the aerospace sector. The engineer will define architecture, perform system simulations, and conduct comprehensive analyses from high-level design to synthesis and power optimization. This position requires collaboration with circuit card designers and providing critical support in production environments, including debugging FPGA-related issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, verify, and document FPGA designs.
  • Define architecture and logic design for FPGA systems.
  • Conduct system simulations and perform analysis from high-level design to synthesis.
  • Optimize timing and power for FPGA designs.
  • Utilize specialized equipment for operational data analysis and experimental tests.
  • Collaborate with circuit card designers to conduct trade studies.
  • Create and release design requirement specifications.
  • Provide support in production environments, including debugging and troubleshooting FPGA-related issues.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in FPGA design and verification (4-6 years).
  • Proficiency in HDL-based design and code documentation.
  • Experience with UVM and SystemVerilog.
  • Experience integrating FPGA solutions on hardware (4-6 years).
  • Strong background in embedded systems and programmable logic controls (PLC) (2-4 years each).
  • Experience in programming and simulation validation (4-6 years).
  • Familiarity with debugging and troubleshooting FPGA-related issues in a production environment.
  • Active Secret Clearance preferred or ability to obtain Interim Secret Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink FPGA design (HDLCoder/SystemGenerator).
  • Experience with High-Level Synthesis (HLS) design.
  • Experience with configuration management (2-4 years).
  • Systems analysis and design skills (2-4 years).
  • Familiarity with Simulink for FPGA modeling (2-4 years).

Benefits

  • Hourly rate up to $85/hr (W2, non-benefited).
  • 12-month contract duration.
