Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an FPGA Development Engineer to join our expanding team focused on high-speed digital logic development. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and integrating scalable FPGA systems within the AWS technology ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programmable logic, particularly with advanced FPGAs, and will be instrumental in creating custom RTL solutions that meet the demands of our customers. This position requires a US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. As an FPGA Development Engineer, you will develop custom RTL and integrate it with third-party libraries to build end-to-end solutions that exceed 100G. You will collaborate closely with design and system engineers to perform trade-offs and architect innovative solutions tailored to customer needs. Your responsibilities will also include owning the interface between software and hardware by developing drivers and providing software examples. Participation in design meetings to plan development and review peer designs will be a key part of your role, as will identifying new opportunities and technologies to enhance customer experience and add features. In your day-to-day activities, you will work on a cross-functional team of hardware and software developers, writing programmable logic and embedded software to interact with custom hardware. You will debug RTL in simulation, synthesize and implement designs to ensure they meet timing and performance requirements. Additionally, you will help deploy RTL onto hardware targets and troubleshoot any issues that arise in RTL, hardware, or software. Your expertise will be vital in architectural discussions and strategic planning meetings, as we develop AWS-owned hardware solutions aimed at scaling globally, minimizing costs, and maximizing value for our customers. Our team is composed of dedicated hardware, software, and FPGA engineers, and we operate from a product development lab located in Arlington, VA.
