About the position

The FPI Inspector - Level II Reader is responsible for performing fluorescent penetrant inspections on investment casting and interpreting, evaluating, and dispositioning the results in accordance with customer specifications. This position is for the 3rd shift and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for candidates who have current or previous FPI Level II certification. The role involves handling hazardous waste, providing guidance to trainees, maintaining a positive work atmosphere, and ensuring that products are properly processed according to applicable method sheets. The inspector must also be capable of setting up and calibrating equipment, organizing and reporting test results, and performing additional duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor or Level III.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fluorescent penetrant inspections on investment casting.
  • Interpret, evaluate, and disposition inspection results according to customer specifications.
  • Handle hazardous waste in accordance with MSDS and company policy.
  • Provide guidance to trainees and Level I personnel.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective communication.
  • Organize and report test results.
  • Set up and calibrate inspection equipment.
  • Assure product processing according to applicable method sheets.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Current or previous FPI Level II certification.
  • Documented completion of an organized training course per NAS-410.
  • Experience in the inspection of turbine components.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality and quantity.
  • Strong attendance record and dependability.
