About the position

The Franchise & Contracts Paralegal at Habit Burger & Grill will provide essential legal support in franchising, contracts, and corporate matters. Reporting to the Chief People & Legal Officer, the role requires effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting and updating Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDD) in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Ensure timely filing and compliance with disclosure requirements.
• Prepare, review, and finalize franchise and related agreements for execution by franchisees.
• Track agreement expirations, renewals, and terminations.
• Assist in drafting, revising, and finalizing various types of contracts, including NDAs and vendor agreements.
• Manage databases to ensure accurate record-keeping of all contracts and related documents.
• Maintain and update corporate records, including articles of incorporation, bylaws, and amendments.
• Assist with other legal matters relating to Franchising, Contracts, and Corporate compliance as needed.
• Coordinate with external counsel as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of legal experience; relevant in-house and transactional experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Completion of a paralegal program with a Paralegal Certificate or Degree in Paralegal Studies preferred.
• Understanding of commercial contracts, franchising, corporate documents, and corporate entity formation.
• Experience in restaurant or retail industry a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion.
