About the position

As a Franchise/Corporate Paralegal at Edible Arrangements, LLC, you will be an integral part of a small in-house legal team, providing essential support to our attorneys in various legal tasks. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including legal research, documentation preparation, client communication, and administrative duties. This position is based in our home office in Sandy Springs, GA, where you will work onsite Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work from home on Fridays. In your day-to-day activities, you will support the legal team by drafting legal documents for attorney approval, identifying necessary forms and formats, producing text, proofreading, and maintaining a document control system. You will also assist with merger and acquisition due diligence, conduct legal research by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and codes, and maintain a database by organizing document control, designing retrieval systems, and summarizing and coding documents. Additionally, you will be involved in completing real and personal property transactions, which includes inventorying and appraising assets, arranging sales, and establishing payment mechanisms. Some litigation support may also be required as business and team needs arise. Responsibilities

  • Draft legal documents for attorney approval and use, identifying forms and formats, producing text, and proofreading.
  • Assist with merger and acquisition due diligence.
  • Research law sources by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and codes.
  • Maintain a database by keeping up with data entry, organizing document control, designing retrieval systems, summarizing, coding, and storing documents, and updating the system.
  • Complete real and personal property transactions by inventorying and appraising assets, arranging sales, and establishing payment mechanisms.
  • Provide litigation support as business and team needs arise.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience as a paralegal in a legal setting.
  • Proven experience in preparing legal documents, including drafting, proofreading, and managing document control systems.
  • Experience in franchising or corporate transactions strongly preferred, but related areas of expertise and a strong interest in mastering these areas will be considered.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong research and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing legal documents, including identifying appropriate forms and formats, producing text, proofreading, and maintaining a document control system.
  • Experience in generating and maintaining case status reports and logs.
  • Bachelor's degree required, with degrees in Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Political Science, History, English, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, Sociology, or related fields welcome.
