About the position

The Franklin Street Partners Client Onboarding Specialist at Fifth Third Bank is a pivotal role that combines client-facing responsibilities with operational tasks to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for clients. This position is designed to assist Relationship Managers, Client Service and Trust Administrators, and the Operations team in gathering the necessary information and documentation required for the account opening process and conversion to Franklin Street Trust platforms and systems. The primary focus of this role is to facilitate onboarding activities for both new and existing clients, specifically related to the opening of new Investment Management, Trust, and Compliance documentation. As the subject matter expert in client onboarding activities, the Client Onboarding Specialist will be responsible for understanding the specific information and documentation required to open various types of accounts. This includes obtaining necessary approvals related to account openings and submitting requests to the appropriate Lines of Business (LOB) teams for processing. The role emphasizes accountability and risk management, ensuring that all actions align with the bank's policies and procedures while fostering a positive customer experience. The Client Onboarding Specialist will engage in regular communication with clients and the Franklin Street Partners team to ensure a smooth onboarding process. This includes conducting post-account opening follow-up calls to maintain relationships and address any concerns. The position requires a proactive approach to client service, ensuring that all necessary documentation is collected and processed efficiently, thereby enhancing the overall client experience with Franklin Street Partners.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain all necessary information and documentation to facilitate the opening of new investment management, trust, and deposit accounts.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and the Franklin Street Partners team to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Conduct post-account opening follow-up calls with clients and the Franklin Street Partners relationship and operations team.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on information and documentation required for each type of account opening.
  • Ensure pre-acceptance of client accounts is complete, accurate, and documented as required by policy and procedure.
  • Prepare account agreements for client signature and execution.
  • Submit account openings for processing and interface with appropriate LOB related parties.
  • Provide status updates on the account opening and funding process to the Relationship Team throughout the life of the opening.
  • Transition clients to the ongoing service team once the onboarding process is complete.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred or a minimum of 3 years of client service experience, preferably in financial services.
  • Strong client experience skills with both internal and external clients and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of investment management strategies, markets, account types, basic estate planning principles, and financial planning.
  • Experience with client contact (CRM) systems, document repositories, and electronic workflow management tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a high-paced environment while maintaining flexibility to meet business needs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products.
