About the position

The Fraud Analyst is responsible for fraud analysis and management of the various activities reviewed. Provide support and assistance on fraud and loss prevention matters, continuously working to understand and mitigate losses and ensure the highest levels of loss avoidance and reduction. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for serving others. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel, is a must! They should be comfortable working independently and as a contributing member of a team. Meeting deadlines and attention to detail are critical pieces of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing reports and software's for suspicious activity as it relates to check kiting, account fraud, wire transfers, ACH transactions, loan fraud, plastics fraud, identity theft, and digital fraud
  • Identifying transactions and potential suspects of fraudulent activity by analyzing and presenting documentary evidence in a timely manner
  • Researching and investigating possible fraudulent activity on accounts to include reporting activity to appropriate law enforcement officials
  • Preparing reports for senior management on fraud activity perpetrated by members or against our member accounts
  • Preparing summaries for assessment activities for management, and senior management use, and maintaining the credit union's software's to ensure appropriate fraud parameters and alert reviews are in place in conjunction with the Fraud Manager

Requirements

  • 2-year college degree in Business Administration or a business-related field
  • 1 year of experience in researching or investigating fraud, security, banking/financial operations, or law enforcement
  • Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
