About the position

At Certegy, we're helping to change the payments landscape by providing faster, and more efficient ways to securely connect retailers and consumers. Our technology provides both traditional and cutting-edge techniques for merchants to accept and verify payments. We are looking for a Risk Analyst to partner with our customers, in the online sportsbook, casino, and gaming industries, to determine and implement risk controls based on customer needs and payment activity. This position will analyze large sets of data to identify trends and provide actionable insight to customers and Certegy coworkers.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage multiple gaming and retail accounts, creating and maintaining accurate reports of account performance.
  • Provide recommendations for risk controls, fraud detection, prevention based on data analysis.
  • Generate timely and accurate forecasts for accounts, such as gross losses.
  • Analyze and perform statistical analysis on large data sets, identifying data trends and relationships.
  • Implement/modify/test risk controls to achieve targeted approval rates and losses for assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with Fraud team to recognize fraud patterns and suggest new methods of detection, mitigation, and prevention.
  • Communicate material performance trends to management personnel and clients as appropriate.
  • Communicate fraud trends, share best practices and ideas with peers and management.
  • Collaborate with other team members to effectively analyze and present data.
  • Ensure contractual compliance for key metrics including gross loss, approval/turndown limits, and penalties.
  • Develop and maintain a strong familiarity with all data tools while identifying opportunities for possible risk systems enhancements.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical, statistical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Understand the gaming competitive landscape and customer segments.
  • Experience utilizing technology (such as Python) to query and analyze large sets of data is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of databases and a data querying language (such as SQL) is preferred.
  • Experience in the payments industry (e.g., ACH, Credit Card, fraud, underwriting, risk, check cashing) strongly preferred.
  • Proven history in building, managing, analyzing large data sets.
  • Proficiency with SAS, Hyperion or another statistical package preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.
  • A high degree of flexibility, ability to work in self-directed and team environments, and ability to interact on a variety of personal and professional levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Gaming industry experience preferred.
