About the position

The Fraud Risk Director of Software Engineering - Java/AWS at JPMorgan Chase is a leadership role responsible for overseeing technical areas and driving impactful projects within the Fraud Risk team. This position requires a strong background in software engineering and product management, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions across multiple business domains.

Responsibilities

  • Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
  • Makes decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
  • Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
  • Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
  • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
  • Strong technical, hands-on background with Java, Springboot, Microservices, API, and AWS implementation/integrations
  • Extensive experience working on real-time applications, multi-transactional, heavy volume environments
  • Solid experience with architecture and design systems
  • Highly skilled developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
  • Proficiency in leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Practical cloud native experience - AWS
  • Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

Nice-to-haves

  • Solid experience working at code level
  • Application Development work in Agile environment preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and SRE practices
