About the position

PlayStation is seeking a Fraud Strategist to join our team in San Diego, CA. This role is pivotal in our mission to combat fraud and protect our global PlayStation business. As a Fraud Strategist, you will be responsible for leading and driving multiple strategic projects aimed at fraud mitigation. You will work closely with cross-functional internal teams, including product, data science, and engineering, to advance the delivery of our fraud systems. Your expertise in online fraud will be essential as you analyze data, identify malicious behavior, and develop strategies to mitigate fraud trends on a global scale. In this role, you will be a fraud domain specialist, committed to building a next-generation fraud and risk platform. You will facilitate effective day-to-day relationships with various teams to ensure the successful delivery of strategic fraud projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting proactive fraud research, performing detailed data analysis, and investigating fraud and abuse methods. You will also define the strategic product vision and technology strategy for our fraud services, ensuring that we balance customer experience with necessary fraud mitigation recommendations. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal teams to create requirements for fraud components of product roadmaps and business programs. Your role will involve facilitating vendor evaluations and onboarding processes, as well as communicating fraud metrics and reporting on mitigation efforts. You will also drive alliances with external sources, including fraud and gaming industry partners, to enhance our fraud prevention strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Works with product, data science, and engineering teams to advance fraud system delivery
  • Performs proactive fraud research and detailed data analysis to support strategies
  • Investigates fraud and abuse methods and creates strategies to mitigate fraud trends globally
  • Defines strategic product vision, evolution of fraud services roadmap, and technology strategy
  • Collaborates with internal teams to identify and suppress observed fraud trends
  • Creates requirements for fraud components of product roadmaps and business programs
  • Understands and balances the customer experience with fraud mitigation recommendations
  • Facilitates fraud and risk vendor evaluation, recommendation, and onboarding
  • Communicates fraud metrics and reports on fraud mitigation efforts
  • Drives alliances with outside sources such as fraud and gaming industry partners

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in eCommerce fraud risk mitigation
  • 3+ years technical product delivery experience (product management for fraud feature or product)
  • Analytic and problem-solving skills with the proven ability to achieve business objectives
  • Hands-on experience with open source intelligence, SQL, and data visualization tools
  • Experience preparing sophisticated analyses for fraud, data science, and/or payments
  • Self-motivated with strong project management skills
