About the position

At PlayStation, we are seeking a Fraud Strategist who will play a pivotal role in our mission to combat fraud within our global operations. The Fraud Strategist will be responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships with various internal teams and external partners, including game publishers and fraud solution suppliers. This role requires a deep understanding of online fraud, the motivations of fraudsters, and the ability to think creatively to outsmart them. The successful candidate will leverage both new and existing tools to develop strategies that mitigate fraud risks across our platforms. In this position, you will lead multiple strategic projects aimed at fraud mitigation, collaborating with product, data science, and engineering teams to enhance our fraud detection systems. Your analytical skills will be crucial as you perform proactive fraud research and detailed data analysis to support our strategies. You will investigate various fraud and abuse methods, creating comprehensive strategies to address and mitigate these trends on a global scale. Additionally, you will define the strategic vision for our fraud services, evolve our technology strategy, and create requirements for fraud components of product roadmaps and business programs. The Fraud Strategist will also be responsible for communicating fraud metrics and reporting on mitigation efforts, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned. This role requires a self-motivated individual with strong project management skills, capable of working with geographically remote teams and adapting to flexible working hours to support our global operations. Your ability to summarize complex information and communicate effectively with diverse audiences will be essential in driving our fraud prevention initiatives forward.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product, data science, and engineering teams to advance fraud system delivery.
  • Perform proactive fraud research and detailed data analysis to support strategies.
  • Investigate fraud and abuse methods and create strategies to mitigate fraud trends globally.
  • Define strategic product vision, evolution of fraud services roadmap, and technology strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and suppress observed fraud trends.
  • Create requirements for fraud components of product roadmaps and business programs.
  • Understand and balance the customer experience with fraud mitigation recommendations.
  • Facilitate fraud and risk vendor evaluation, recommendation, and onboarding.
  • Communicate fraud metrics and report on fraud mitigation efforts.
  • Drive alliances with outside sources such as fraud and gaming industry partners.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in eCommerce fraud risk mitigation.
  • 3+ years technical product delivery experience (product management for fraud feature or product).
  • Analytic and problem-solving skills with the proven ability to achieve business objectives.
  • Hands-on experience with open source intelligence, SQL, and data visualization tools.
  • Experience preparing sophisticated analyses for fraud, data science, and/or payments.
  • Self-motivated with strong project management skills.

  • Familiarity with digital media software and networking technologies, especially those related to Sony's products, services, and devices.
