About The Position
Free People is looking for a Merchandising intern to join their team this Summer. Our merchandising intern works strategically to tell our products' story on our e-commerce website through compelling imagery, key words, and easy-to-shop edits. This role is designed to provide hands-on learning experience in the merchandising field, allowing interns to immerse themselves in the product lifecycle and understand the merchandising role in the process. The internship will run from June 2 through August 8 at our Home Office in Philadelphia, PA, and will include various intern-focused events, exposure to senior leadership, and opportunities for networking and professional development. As part of the Summer Internship Program, interns will learn to organize samples for meetings, photo shoots, and manage the sample closet. They will assist the merchandising team with meetings, turnover, emails, and various projects. The role requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with buying, design, marketing, and creative teams. Interns will also be tasked with creating a marketing campaign concept board focused on Fall 2025, showcasing their creativity and understanding of the brand's direction. This project will require them to think like marketers and include aspirational visuals and influencer partnerships that align with the brand's vision.
