About the position

The Tech Fundamentals program is a free training initiative designed to provide virtual instruction and support for young adults and military veterans seeking to launch careers in technology. The program offers comprehensive training, mentorship, and job placement assistance, aiming to create pathways to economic prosperity for participants from underserved communities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide up to 20 weeks of instructor-led virtual training.
  • Facilitate opportunities for paid internships or project-based learning experiences.
  • Guide participants in earning industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA A+ and Google IT Support Certificate.
  • Expose participants to leading technologies including Microsoft, Cisco, and AWS.
  • Offer mentoring from senior-level IT professionals.
  • Conduct employment readiness workshops.
  • Assist with job placement and connect participants to top employers.
  • Provide access to financial assistance and resources for housing and childcare.

Requirements

  • Participants must be 18-26 years of age or over 21 if a military veteran or spouse.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US.
  • For military veterans or spouses: must be transitioning active-duty servicemember, honorably discharged, or a member of the Guard or Reserves.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technology or IT-related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
