About the position

Design Mode is seeking freelance floral designers to assist with upcoming projects. This role involves creating floral arrangements and decor installations for large-scale events, primarily in-studio, with potential travel for on-site work. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong background in floral design, particularly within the special events industry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and design arrangements utilizing new and existing fresh floral recipes
• Participate in the receiving and processing of floral deliveries
• Follow design decks and load lists to pull/install decor items for events
• Assist with studio upkeep; sweep, clean buckets, take out trash
• On-site floral design and large installations, event installs & strikes
• Perform other studio related duties & special projects as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in floral design, preferably in the special events industry
• Exhibit expert knowledge of fresh flowers and plants
• Well versed in all areas of floral design with a variety of mechanics
• Capable of maintaining high standards under pressure and realizing tight deadlines
• Demonstrate a high level of organization, flexibility and resourcefulness
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting and on multiple projects simultaneously

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cash register and POS systems
• Retail sales experience
