About the position

The Freelance Paid Media Manager is a strategic thinker who can jump right into the work and help our clients' brands drive engagement and sales through social and digital channels. This role requires an expert understanding of paid media, with the ability to translate data into big picture thinking. Spotting trends and helping clients and creative teams capitalize on them comes second nature to the ideal candidate. Above all, the Freelance Paid Media Manager must be able to easily translate actual data into words, making it comprehensible for clients to understand the dynamics of the digital world. This position is perfect for someone who loves numbers, problem-solving, and optimizing campaigns for better performance. In the day-to-day operations, the Freelance Paid Media Manager will manage campaign strategy, budget management, and ad trafficking, which includes compiling creative assets and copy, as well as managing the handoff to media buyers and vendors. Collaboration is key, as this role involves working closely with creative and strategy teams to optimize creative, messaging, and audiences across various campaigns and platforms. The manager will also collaborate with a media buying agency to execute and optimize paid campaigns across all platforms, serving as the subject matter expert on search for both the internal team and clients. Monthly client reporting calls and internal meetings will be led by the manager, who will communicate campaign performance, insights, and recommendations to the account management team, strategy team, creative team, and clients. Keeping up-to-date reporting dashboards and regularly inputting key insights is essential. The manager will analyze KPIs and provide recommendations for account improvement across channels, while also providing thought leadership, strategic development, and deployment of campaigns across social and digital owned properties. Performing paid media channel audits, making recommendations, and staying current on best practices are also part of the role. The Freelance Paid Media Manager will seek to spot trends and help clients and creative teams capitalize on them, interpreting key insights and lessons for monthly client reports, and making recommendations to improve clients' site sales, including site improvements and email strategies.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Self-starter, skilled multi-tasker who can juggle many client projects simultaneously with little oversight
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, paired with clear verbal and written communication
  • Possesses an unrivaled proactiveness and hustle
  • Analytical by nature; has strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and passion for all things digital/social
  • Expert user of organic social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Meta and the up-and-comers
  • Continually developing expertise in Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and SEO
  • Comprehensive understanding of digital technology and terminology
  • A degree in media, marketing, communications, or related field; or equivalency in experience
  • 4+ years paid media strategy, planning and buying experience in the digital and social space
  • Experience working with CPG brands and paid search is mandatory; retailer media experience is a plus
  • Certifications in Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Social Media Platforms, Email marketing, and SEO are a plus
