About the position

JoJo Wong Design & Construction is seeking a part-time, freelance Residential Interior Designer with an architectural background. This project-based contractor role involves working closely with the owner in a co-working office in Las Vegas. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in interior design or architecture, showcasing strong design and graphic abilities to create and develop overall design concepts and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and with project teams on projects from the schematic phase through construction administration.
• Design projects on a variety of scales.
• Coordinate and oversee project teams including multiple consultants.
• Prepare construction documents, specifications, and oversee construction administration.
• Create 2D and 3D representations of design sketches or developed projects.
• Prepare and modify architectural documents (plans, elevations, sections, details, etc.) as directed by the project designer utilizing BIM and CAD software.
• Deliver complete, accurate, and coordinated documentation on projects with aggressive schedules.
• Develop solutions to technical and design problems.
• Translate design concepts into construction documents for both interior and exterior systems.
• Intermittent travel between Texas and California for projects.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in design & construction documents of single-family residential.
• Strong organizational skills and follow-through.
• Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work well under pressure and juggle multiple projects against tight deadlines.
• Experience in construction documentation and design detail development.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, and Adobe Photoshop.
• Strong design and graphic abilities in the creation and development of overall design concepts.
• Positive attitude and work ethic, ability to multi-task and problem-solve.
