About the position

The Freight Brokerage Operations Manager at Legacy Supply Chain is responsible for managing and expanding the customer base within the Freight Brokerage Division. This role focuses on providing effective logistics solutions, achieving gross margin goals, and leading a team to enhance operational performance. The position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to foster a high-performance team atmosphere while ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the Transportation Office Staff to drive operational performance.
  • Generate and identify new opportunities with customers through relationship building.
  • Act as Operational lead in support of new prospects in domestic transportation.
  • Streamline and optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Review operations & customer activity KPIs and metrics in real time.
  • Ensure overall growth in volume, revenue, and gross margin from current and new customers.
  • Develop and achieve operation goals in accordance with branch Revenue, Gross Margin, and EBITDA goals.
  • Assist the Transportation Sales Team with customer growth strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strategic plans for Carrier On-Boarding & Compliance.
  • Maintain an understanding of market conditions and data for accurate pricing.
  • Ensure Carrier Development and Logistics Coordinator Teams meet customers' KPIs.
  • Create a high-performance team atmosphere that fosters innovation and productivity.
  • Manage conflicts and navigate difficult conversations with customers and employees.
  • Support Sales, Operations Leadership, and Pricing Team in opportunities and RFPs.
  • Contribute to a healthy work environment and promote high morale and teamwork.
  • Communicate employee performance levels through evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in the Brokerage industry.
  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding financial targets.
  • Understanding of Domestic Transportation industry and market trends.
  • Strong negotiation skills and demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Proven experience in building and managing high-performance teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales and operational data for informed decision-making.
  • Customer-centric approach with a commitment to high-quality service.
