About the position

The Freight Carrier Sales and Service Representative at Talk Freight is a pivotal role focused on building and managing relationships within the logistics and supply chain sector. This position involves driving sales growth, onboarding new clients, and enhancing customer service through effective communication and negotiation. The representative will work closely with the front office team to support the company's innovative AI-driven logistics platform, contributing to the overall success and expansion of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Bring new carriers onto the platform and grow relationships.
  • Onboard new Talk Freight clients and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Secure and grow FTL carriers to fulfill business demand.
  • Solicit carriers to determine availability as needed.
  • Assist the team on transportation bids for current and prospective clients.
  • Improve customer service, transit times, and transportation costs.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with carrier accounts.
  • Manage FTL load boards.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage customer relationships through strong communication skills and exceptional customer service.
  • Handle customer service inquiries and troubleshooting as necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in carrier sales and/or service.
  • Strong ability to persuade, motivate, negotiate, and influence others.
  • Experience with Vans, Reefers, and Flatbeds.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
