About the position

The Sales Manager will be responsible for building and managing a sales team within a top freight forwarding company. This role focuses on demonstrating the benefits of the company's shipping services to potential clients while making a significant impact on the global supply chain. The Sales Manager will lead by example, inspire the team, and provide necessary tools and training to ensure success in a dynamic logistics environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and expand the company's customer base by primarily targeting customers in the local territory.
  • Build and manage the local sales team and participate in office recruitment and sales team development.
  • Negotiate rates, create quotations, and build relationships with the customer base.
  • Pursue continuous business development while achieving monthly and yearly team KPI targets.
  • Secure monthly appointments with prospective and existing clients to discuss service options and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in sales/business development with at least 1 year experience in sales leadership or senior sales required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
  • Previous experience using the ERP system, CargoWise One, is preferred.
