About the position

The Freight Processing Lead is responsible for leading the freight team in a retail environment, ensuring effective merchandising preparation, truck unloading, stocking, and backroom organization. This role involves working closely with the freight team while maintaining accountability for freight processing metrics and presentation standards. The position also includes serving as Manager on Duty, providing direction to store associates, and ensuring high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead the freight team in merchandising preparation, truck unload, and stocking tasks.
• Provide clear work direction, training, and coaching to freight team members.
• Analyze staffing and scheduling needs for freight flow processes based on projected carton counts.
• Track, calculate, and report freight productivity metrics weekly.
• Provide feedback to store leadership regarding team performance and freight metrics.
• Ensure stockroom organization and cleanliness, including back stock control.
• Prepare for upcoming merchandising efforts and reconcile inventory transactions with store leadership.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed, ensuring store standards are met.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum two years retail management experience preferred.
• Strong decision-making, problem resolution, and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds required.
• Availability to work a variable schedule of at least 30 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays required.
• Basic English literacy, math, and PC skills required.
