About the position

The Freight/Receiving Associate position at Home Depot is crucial for ensuring that the store is fully stocked and prepared for business operations each day. Associates in this role are responsible for loading and unloading trucks, moving materials from the receiving area throughout the store, and maintaining proper inventory levels. This position may also involve operating forklifts and performing essential functions related to pricing and stock management to enhance customer satisfaction. Direct interaction with customers is a frequent requirement, necessitating excellent customer service skills. The Freight/Receiving roles can include various titles such as Freight Team Associate, Freight Team Lead, Receiving Associate, and Receiving Support, each contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of store operations. In a typical day, a Freight/Receiving Associate will engage in various tasks that ensure the store's inventory is accurate and accessible. This includes checking in merchandise, organizing stock in the receiving area, and ensuring that products are properly displayed on the sales floor. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, as associates will be on their feet for extended periods and may need to lift heavy items. Additionally, associates must be adept at using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and they should be comfortable working in a team-oriented environment to achieve common goals. The position is located onsite at a specific Home Depot location, which means that associates must be available to work at that location to fulfill their job duties. As part of the application process, candidates will be required to complete an online assessment that evaluates their professional experience, learning potential, responsibility, and customer focus.
