About the position

The Forest Language Preschool is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Spanish and/or French speaking Preschool Teacher or Teacher Assistant for their developmental Language Immersion Program. This role involves working with children aged 2 to 5 years, focusing on a holistic approach to education. The ideal candidate will be flexible, reliable, and passionate about fostering a safe and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement curriculum for preschool children.
• Create a safe and nurturing environment for children.
• Communicate effectively with parents and co-workers.
• Demonstrate respect for diverse cultures in the classroom.
• Interact with children at their level to promote learning and development.
• Maintain a clean and attractive classroom environment.
• Participate in activities that require physical movement, including lifting and playing with children.
• Respond to parents with sensitivity and respect.

Requirements

• A minimum of 12 ECE units (6 ECE for Assistant).
• A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a preschool setting.
• CPR & First Aid certification.
• Current immunizations and/or proof of immunity to Pertussis & Measles.
• Current TB test.
• Background and fingerprint clearance as required by DSS.
• Fluency in Spanish or French, both spoken and written.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and engage in physical activities with children.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
