About the position

The Fresh Cut Supervisor is responsible for managing the Fresh Cut operation in accordance with company standards. This role involves supervising department employees, ensuring product quality and safety, and providing excellent customer service. The supervisor will also be involved in training staff, handling customer relations, and maintaining inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Fresh Cut operation according to company standards.
  • Supervise Fresh Cut Department employees and provide training.
  • Ensure product quality, freshness, safety, and selection.
  • Handle customer relations and resolve complaints effectively.
  • Promote personalized service in the Fresh Cut Department.
  • Schedule personnel and monitor employee performance.
  • Prepare fresh fruits, vegetables, and salads for the department.
  • Stock, date, and rotate products to ensure quality and freshness.
  • Control shrink and costs, preventing the sale of out-of-code products.
  • Receive, check, and control inventory for quality and freshness.
  • Create effective promotional and seasonal displays.
  • Comply with food and workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Assist customers with product suggestions and engage in suggestive selling.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of all duties related to the Fresh Cut Department.
  • Good communication skills and ability to maintain composure with customers and co-workers.
  • Knowledge of workplace practices and company policies.
  • Ability to judge and react to business activity.
  • Knowledge of product variety, perishability, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Physical ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination.
  • Basic mathematics knowledge for weights and measures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a retail or grocery environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a food-related department.
