About the position

The Fresh Cut Supervisor is responsible for managing the Fresh Cut operation in accordance with company standards. This role involves supervising department employees, ensuring product quality and safety, and providing excellent customer service. The supervisor will also be tasked with training staff, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Champions Company and Division customer service programs to meet or exceed Division customer service goals.
  • Handles customer relations positively, including effective resolution of customer complaints.
  • Promotes personalized service philosophy in the Fresh Cut Department.
  • Supervises, motivates, and trains personnel in the department.
  • Monitors employee performance and recommends personnel actions such as hiring, firing, layoff, and disciplinary action.
  • Schedules Fresh Cut Department personnel assigned to shifts.
  • Prepares fresh fruits, vegetables, and salads for the department.
  • Stocks, dates, and rotates products to ensure quality and freshness.
  • Controls shrink and cost, preventing the sale of out-of-code products.
  • Receives, checks, and controls inventory for quality and freshness.
  • Creates effective promotional and seasonal displays.
  • Complies with all food and workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensures proper signing and pricing of products.
  • Assists customers with product suggestions and engages in suggestive selling.
  • Ensures safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area and equipment.

Requirements

  • Requires working knowledge of all duties related to the Fresh Cut Department.
  • Requires good communication skills and the ability to maintain composure in customer interactions.
  • Requires knowledge of workplace practices and overall company practices.
  • Requires understanding of Fresh Cut Department policies and procedures.
  • Requires ability to judge and react to business activity.
  • Must have knowledge of product variety, perishability, food safety, and sanitation procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role within a retail or food service environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and control processes.
