About the position

The Fresh Foods Clerk at WinCo Foods plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the quality and presentation of fresh food products. This part-time position involves engaging with customers, preparing and stocking food items, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The clerk will contribute to the overall mission of WinCo Foods by providing a friendly shopping experience and supporting the community through their work.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers.
• Maintain an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service.
• Take orders, answer questions, and perform suggestive selling.
• Prepare, stock, display, straighten, and rotate product in fresh food cases.
• Prepare production items according to recipes and food safety procedures.
• Handle frozen products and inspect all products for quality and freshness.
• Prepare cases by putting products in fresh pans and rotating stock.
• Place proper signage on all products, including pricing and descriptions.
• Clean and maintain department equipment such as fryers and slicers.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary department by washing parts and cleaning floors.
• Receive inventory, stock, and verify receipt of ordered products.
• Follow strict sanitary guidelines and complete associated records.

Requirements

• Ability to work varied hours primarily between 5:00 am to 10:00 pm, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Effective communication skills to interact with customers.
• Ability to conduct visual inspections and follow production guides and recipes.
• Basic math skills for computing weights and measures.
• Mental alertness to handle potential hazards with respect to procedures and equipment.
• Completion of training course and meeting minimum productivity standards.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
