About the position

The CSA/Carts Clerk at Fresh Grocer is responsible for delivering excellent customer service by assisting customers with their groceries and maintaining a clean and organized shopping environment. This role involves collecting and returning shopping carts, ensuring safety and compliance with company policies, and providing friendly and efficient service to enhance the customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work/shopping environment.
• Greet all customers and provide them with prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Collect empty shopping carts from assigned areas and return them to their proper place.
• Handle damaged or return-to-stock products according to company policy, prioritizing refrigerated and perishable items.
• Perform all duties in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to front-end operations.
• Dress and groom according to company policy, including uniform and name badge requirements.
• Perform duties in accordance with QA hand washing standards and use disposable gloves when handling food.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Utilize and maintain equipment as required by the department and report any equipment problems immediately.
• Complete all applicable department training programs.
• Check prices and be knowledgeable about the location of items in the store.
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance and work overtime as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies.
