About the position
The Freshman Girls Softball Coach at Kentwood Public Schools is responsible for leading and developing the skills of high school athletes in the sport of softball. This role involves coaching, mentoring, and fostering a positive team environment while ensuring adherence to MHSAA rules and regulations. The coach will work closely with students to enhance their athletic abilities and promote teamwork and sportsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coach the Freshman Girls Softball team.
- Develop and implement practice plans to improve player skills.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Ensure compliance with MHSAA rules and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.
- Manage game strategies and player positions during competitions.
- Provide mentorship and support to student-athletes.
Requirements
- Knowledge of fundamental skills of softball.
- Previous playing and coaching experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport with high school students.
- Strong leadership abilities.
- Good disciplinary skills.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment.
