As a Site Reliability Engineer - Cloud Operations at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and support of cloud-based information technology solutions. This position is integral to our strategic effort to transform Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) into a national, enterprise-focused organization. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and operationalizing infrastructure, security services, and system components in commercial or government cloud service providers, ensuring the delivery of highly available and scalable services. The work is advanced and requires minimal supervision, emphasizing the need for a strategic, action-oriented mindset that fosters innovation through experimentation. In this role, you will lead the operational design and maintenance of our AWS cloud-based platform, guiding technical teams on operational best practices. You will spearhead automation efforts to reduce manual tasks and enhance transparency within our secure cloud ecosystem. Collaborating with stakeholders, you will translate requirements into technical implementations and integrate existing legacy systems with proposed solutions. Your expertise will also extend to overseeing continuous delivery and integration frameworks, setting up infrastructure as code, and leading testing efforts to ensure quality and reliability. Your responsibilities will include providing timely technical support across departments, assisting with customer-side monitoring tools, and utilizing monitoring and analytics tools such as Grafana and Dynatrace. This position does not have direct reports, allowing you to focus on technical leadership and operational excellence without the complexities of managing a team.
