About the position
The Caregiver position at Home Instead involves providing essential support and companionship to seniors in their homes. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling options, allowing caregivers to choose their shifts while ensuring that they can meet the needs of their clients, particularly on weekends. The position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care and assistance with daily living activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and conversation to seniors.
- Ensure safety and supervision during visits.
- Assist with transportation for errands and activities.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks as needed.
- Offer hands-on assistance and support for fall-risk clients.
- Prepare meals and provide medication reminders.
- Assist with personal hygiene and incontinence needs.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with insurance.
- Availability to work at least 20 hours a week, including one weekend shift.
- Must be HCAC or NAC certified.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Comfortable working around pets.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in caregiving or related fields.
- Certification in CPR or first aid.
