About the position

The Total Store Sanitation Specialist at H-E-B is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the store by performing sanitation tasks and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. This role requires a commitment to customer service and teamwork, as well as the ability to work overnight shifts. The position emphasizes the importance of maintaining a clean environment for both customers and staff, contributing to the overall success of the store.

Responsibilities

• Maintain department fixtures and equipment cleanliness.
• Perform total store sanitation tasks to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Deep clean and disinfect processing areas, including equipment, fixtures, coolers, floors, and drains.
• Maintain proper documentation and certification of chemical handling and sanitation verification functions.
• Properly use chemicals and cleaning tools according to H-E-B's chemical program.
• Apply knowledge of product handling and food preparation processes for sanitation purposes.
• Communicate maintenance needs and process improvements to Store Leaders.
• Assist customers in locating products and attending to their needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience in maintenance or sanitation.
• Completion of Company Orientation and safety certifications upon hire.
• Knowledge of OSHA Guidelines.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and pay attention to detail.
• Ability to work late evenings and overnight schedules.
