Responsibilities

• Operate a cash register accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit card transactions, and counting change.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the cash register, counters, and surrounding areas.
• Ensure that all food and products are handled safely and according to food safety guidelines.
• Upsell and promote products, offering suggestions and recommendations to customers.
• Manage time effectively and balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Follow established sanitation and food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure a clean environment for customers.
• Perform sales duties, including handling customer transactions and making change.
• Demonstrate knowledge of culinary practices and food preparation methods to answer customer questions and provide recommendations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive and welcoming store atmosphere.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a bakery or restaurant setting is preferred, but willing to train.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with customers of all ages and backgrounds.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Proficiency in cash handling and basic math skills.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift light objects.
• Availability to work weekends, if needed.
