About the position

The Front Desk Agent at Kenner Hotel is responsible for providing exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for guests. This role involves managing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for all visitors. The position requires multitasking and a friendly demeanor, with a focus on dependability and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and patrons as they arrive
• Engage with guests to determine their room needs and reason for visit
• Manage the registration process and qualify guests upon check-in
• Ask for identification and ensure accuracy of provided credentials
• Manage guest check-ins and check-outs appropriately
• Operate hotel switchboard, take calls, and provide information
• Manage accurate accounting of all rooms and provide guests with correct room keys
• Take reservations over the phone, through emails, and in person
• Answer queries regarding hotel services, charges, and facilities
• Refer guests to appropriate departments to resolve complaints or provide suggestions
• Compute bills and take payments
• Contact housekeeping and maintenance departments when problems are reported
• Explain appropriate use of keys and ensure guest satisfaction with rooms
• Perform basic maintenance to minimize out-of-order rooms
• Perform housekeeping and laundry functions as needed
• Balance cash at the end of the shift and generate accounting reports for the next shift

Requirements

• 1 year of hotel experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent guest service skills
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing demands

• Experience with Property Management Systems
• Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
