About the position
The Front Desk Agent at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests during their stay, from check-in to check-out. This role involves maximizing room revenue and occupancy while maintaining a professional and friendly image. The agent must be knowledgeable about hotel policies, services, and local attractions to assist guests effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests during check-in, throughout their stay, and at checkout.
- Support and promote superior customer service in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
- Provide impeccable guest service and create a fun experience for guests.
- Maintain knowledge of the property and local events to advise guests.
- Respond to guest requests for assistance and information about the local area.
- Sell rooms to walk-in customers and create reservations using the system.
- Post charges to guest accounts and process payments from guests.
- Inform housekeeping about room status and availability.
- Clean the front desk area and maintain public areas and lobbies.
- Listen for and respond to guest complaints, maintaining daily logs.
- Balance shift work and cash drawers.
- Recognize and create guest profiles to enhance service accuracy.
- Assist other team members and departments to improve overall performance.
- Participate in department meetings and stay informed about company communications.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Guest service experience preferred.
- Front desk experience preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to perform physical job duties of all Front Desk team members.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with guests and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
