About the position

The Front Desk Agent at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests during their stay, from check-in to check-out. This role involves maximizing room revenue and occupancy while maintaining a professional and friendly image. The agent must be knowledgeable about hotel policies, services, and local attractions to assist guests effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests during check-in, throughout their stay, and at checkout.
  • Support and promote superior customer service in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
  • Provide impeccable guest service and create a fun experience for guests.
  • Maintain knowledge of the property and local events to advise guests.
  • Respond to guest requests for assistance and information about the local area.
  • Sell rooms to walk-in customers and create reservations using the system.
  • Post charges to guest accounts and process payments from guests.
  • Inform housekeeping about room status and availability.
  • Clean the front desk area and maintain public areas and lobbies.
  • Listen for and respond to guest complaints, maintaining daily logs.
  • Balance shift work and cash drawers.
  • Recognize and create guest profiles to enhance service accuracy.
  • Assist other team members and departments to improve overall performance.
  • Participate in department meetings and stay informed about company communications.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Guest service experience preferred.
  • Front desk experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to perform physical job duties of all Front Desk team members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with guests and resolve conflicts diplomatically.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge of local attractions and dining options.
