About the position

Ascent Hospitality is seeking a Front Desk Agent to provide exceptional guest service and support hotel operations. This role involves managing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, with a focus on maximizing guest satisfaction and hotel revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all activities listed in the Front Desk checklist.
  • Perform various marketing duties, including upselling to generate additional revenue.
  • Provide optimum service and satisfaction to hotel/restaurant guests and visitors.
  • Follow proper security and liability measures to protect hotel assets.
  • Greet guests immediately with a friendly, sincere welcome.
  • Provide information about the hotel, available rooms, rates, and amenities.
  • Maximize occupancy levels and achieve the highest average rate possible.
  • Promptly complete the registration process and confirm pertinent information.
  • Close out guest accounts at check-out and verify payment methods.
  • Handle cash, make change, and balance assigned cash bank.
  • Maintain effective communication with all hotel departments.
  • Stay aware of issues relating to hotel operations and communicate with management.
  • Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized experiences for guests.
  • Adhere to safety, security, and emergency procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a hotel Front Desk Agent preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English.
  • Familiarity with computer operations and typing skills.
  • Ability to operate office equipment such as copiers and telephones.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and without constant supervision.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Some college education preferred.
  • Six months related experience in hotels or customer service training.
