About the position

The Front Desk Agent at Hyatt Place Houston Galleria is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment. This role involves managing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling inquiries, and maintaining the overall guest experience across various hotel facilities. The position requires open availability, including weekends, and adherence to hospitality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome all guests approaching the Front Desk in accordance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Handle check-ins and check-outs in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner.
  • Maintain proper operation of the telephone switchboard and ensure that all performance standards are met.
  • Answer guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions.
  • Establish and maintain good communication and teamwork with fellow associates and other departments within the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag.
  • Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality policies, standards, and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Handle requests for information, mail, and messages in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Fully comprehend and operate all relevant aspects of the Front Desk computer system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the hotel.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; College coursework in a related field is helpful.
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
