About the position

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing exceptional guest service by greeting and registering guests, managing reservations, and handling guest inquiries. This role is crucial in ensuring a positive experience for guests during their stay, while also maximizing room revenue and occupancy rates.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome all guests approaching the Front Desk in a friendly manner.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag.
  • Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality policies and standards to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Handle requests for information, mail, and messages in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Answer guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities, and hours of operation.
  • Establish and maintain good communication and teamwork with fellow associates and other departments within the hotel.
  • Be aware of all rates, packages, and special promotions, and be familiar with in-house groups and restricted dates.
  • Obtain necessary information when taking room reservations and follow rate quoting scenarios.
  • Assist in emergency procedures as required and handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
  • Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of all property amenities and local attractions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the hotel.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; College coursework in a related field is helpful.
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Possess a positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and problem-solve effectively.
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly and evaluate alternative courses of action quickly.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations and handle workplace problems effectively.
  • Ability to understand and clarify issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic functions and able to work with financial information.
  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with hotel management software is a plus.
  • Bilingual abilities are preferred to assist a diverse clientele.
