About the position

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing exceptional guest service by greeting and registering guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. This role requires a friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to handle various guest inquiries and requests efficiently. The agent plays a crucial role in maximizing room revenue and occupancy while maintaining high standards of service throughout the guest's stay.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome all guests approaching the Front Desk in a friendly manner.
  • Handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently and courteously.
  • Maintain proper operation of the telephone switchboard and ensure performance standards are met.
  • Answer guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions.
  • Establish and maintain good communication and teamwork with fellow associates and other departments.
  • Be aware of all rates, packages, and special promotions, and assist in reservations as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming as per brand standards.
  • Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality policies and regulations to ensure safe hotel operations.
  • Deliver guest items such as luggage, newspapers, and packages as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the hotel.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in a related field is helpful.
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to handle guest inquiries and issues effectively.
  • Ability to work in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Effective communication skills to convey information clearly.
  • Basic arithmetic skills for handling financial information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with hotel management software.
  • Knowledge of local attractions and events.
  • Bilingual skills to assist a diverse clientele.
