About the position

The Front Desk Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Front Desk Manager in the operation of the Front Office, ensuring that all guests receive quality service throughout their stay. This role involves maximizing room revenue and occupancy while maintaining a friendly and efficient atmosphere. Management-level associates are expected to fulfill their job responsibilities diligently, including working overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Front Desk Manager with daily operations of the Front Office.
  • Provide attentive, friendly, and courteous service to all guests.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Respond to guest requests, problems, and complaints in an efficient manner.
  • Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline Front Desk personnel according to company standards.
  • Maximize room revenue and occupancy by reviewing daily status and analyzing rate efficiency.
  • Assist with the preparation of employee schedules and payroll compilation.
  • Ensure compliance with brand and company training standards.
  • Monitor the Front Office computer system and ensure proper operation of the P.B.X. console.
  • Conduct meetings according to company standards as required by management.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or a 2-year college degree with 3 years of related experience, or a 4-year college degree with at least 1 year of related experience.
  • Supervisory experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems is necessary.
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Effective problem-solving skills in the workplace.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with hotel management software.
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and practices.
