About the position

The Front Desk Clerk and Night Auditor at Courtyard at Kennedy is a customer service-oriented role responsible for managing front desk operations and conducting night audits. This position requires a friendly and detail-oriented individual who can handle guest interactions, resolve complaints, and perform cash handling duties. The role involves working overnight shifts and requires strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Run night audit function and reconcile credit card payments.
  • Input sales from other systems and manual sales sheets.
  • Resolve guest complaints independently.
  • Check-in and check guests out and post charges for in-house accounts.
  • Explain billing and make necessary corrections to guest folios.
  • Review pending advance deposits and charges.
  • Quote room rates and room package information.
  • Read group resumes and know daily activities of groups.
  • Complete shift closing and drop cash and check payments.
  • Secure bank at all times and follow proper cash handling policies.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork related to front office operations.
  • Check and balance daily figures and post room and tax charges on guest accounts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
  • Previous experience in cash handling.
  • Previous experience in a customer service environment is beneficial.
  • Good communication skills; ability to communicate with guests and team members.
  • Basic math skills; ability to accurately handle money and count change.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be able and willing to cross train in night audit.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a hospitality environment.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends.
