About the position

The Center for Cognition and Communication (CCC) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Front Desk Coordinator/Receptionist to join our team. As a leading provider of neuropsychological evaluations and cognitive therapy, CCC is committed to delivering exceptional mental health services to patients who have suffered from concussions or traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Our offices are located in the New York metro area, including a prominent location adjacent to Cornell Medical Center and in Queens. We pride ourselves on our distinguished reputation in rehabilitation, utilizing state-of-the-art technology and the latest advancements in research and therapy to provide the best care possible. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, responsible for creating a welcoming and professional environment. Your primary duties will include greeting patients upon arrival, answering incoming calls, scheduling and confirming appointments, and performing insurance verifications. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the satisfaction of both practitioners and patients by coordinating appointments effectively and representing the office positively. This position requires excellent communication skills, a compassionate demeanor, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of five years of medical receptionist experience, preferably in a setting dealing with TBI or PCS. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required, and familiarity with Workers' Compensation and No Fault is a plus. Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients upon arrival.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and assess the urgency of calls.
  • Direct callers to the appropriate person.
  • Schedule and confirm patients' appointments.
  • Ensure the satisfaction of practitioners and patients by scheduling/coordinating appointments as needed.
  • Perform insurance verifications and submit PAR forms.
  • Represent the office in a positive and professional manner to patients and other visitors.
  • Perform all other related tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant experience is required.
  • Five years minimum of medical receptionist experience (TBI/PCS experience is a plus).
  • Bilingual - proficient in Spanish.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, learn fast and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team to complete tasks timely and efficiently.
  • Outstanding telephone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Worker's Compensation and No Fault is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Workers' compensation law.
