About the position

We are seeking a friendly and organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our team at Paramount Dental Group. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our office runs smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the dental industry and experience working with dental insurance companies, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. This position is crucial in creating a warm and professional atmosphere for our patients and ensuring that all administrative tasks are handled efficiently. In this role, you will greet and welcome patients and visitors to our office, manage phone systems, and handle patient files while maintaining accurate and organized records. You will conduct intake and registration processes, verify dental insurance coverage, and assist with scheduling appointments. Your ability to provide exceptional customer service will be key in addressing patient concerns and questions in a timely and professional manner. Additionally, you will develop a strong understanding of dental insurance verification and ensure that all patient data is accurate and up-to-date, while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality. This position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with expected hours of around 38 per week. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong organizational and communication skills to prioritize tasks effectively. Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors to our office, providing a warm and professional atmosphere.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, manage phone systems, and take messages when necessary.
  • Handle patient files and maintain accurate and organized records.
  • Conduct intake and registration processes, verify dental insurance coverage and details.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance by ensuring that all patient information is kept confidential.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and providing general administrative support.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient concerns and questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop a strong understanding of dental insurance verification/break downs, ensuring that all patient data is accurate and up-to-date.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills a plus.
  • Experience with dental insurances, phone systems, and customer service.
  • Familiarity with dental practice management software like OpenDental, and health information management systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of dental office experience (Preferred)
  • 1 year of medical terminology experience (Preferred)
  • 1 year of computer skills experience (Preferred)
