About the position

The position involves working closely with the General Manager to oversee all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring smooth functioning across departments such as guest relations, front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance. The role includes supervising staff, managing operations in the absence of the General Manager, and ensuring adherence to safety and budgetary standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the hotel in the absence of the General Manager.
• Approve general operating procedures for the rooms, housekeeping, and maintenance departments.
• Monitor the budget and direct corrective action as necessary to assure that budget goals are attained.
• Function as an administrative link between and among departments.
• Monitor internal cost control procedures.
• Coordinate training programs.
• Monitor safety conditions and employees' adherence to safety procedures.
• Update emergency plans and procedures and assure effective training for these programs is conducted in all departments.
• Receive, investigate, and act upon complaints from guests and employees.
• Assure that the hotel's preventive maintenance and energy management programs are in use.
• Participate in ongoing facility inspections throughout the hotel to assure cleanliness, safety, and other standards are consistently met.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of hotel experience.
• Strong leadership and a professional image.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent decision-making ability and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.

Nice-to-haves

• Hotel management experience (2 years preferred)
• Ability to relocate before starting work (preferred)
