About the position

The Medical Receptionist at Patriot All Pro Physical Therapy Centers serves as the first point of contact for patients, playing a crucial role in fostering positive relationships between patients and the clinic. This position involves scheduling appointments, managing phone communications, verifying insurance information, and ensuring proper patient registration. The receptionist also acts as a liaison between the clinic and various external entities, including primary care providers, law offices, and insurance companies.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments and check insurance eligibility.
  • Train and learn the EMR/Scheduling system.
  • Answer office phone calls and route them appropriately.
  • Check patients in and ensure all intake forms are completed correctly.
  • Inform patients of any financial balances due at the time of service.
  • Check insurance eligibility online or via phone during service.
  • Collect co-pays at the time of service.
  • Assist patients with insurance referrals and obtain authorizations.
  • Create new patient accounts and manage patient tracking for maximum visits.
  • Initiate and retrieve information for workers' compensation, motor vehicle accident, and personal injury claims.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Physical Therapy or Chiropractor office is required.
  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of office procedures, preferably with a certificate or Associate's degree in business/administrative processes.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.
  • Proficient writing skills are necessary.
  • Excellent phone skills and a friendly demeanor are required.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
  • Fluency in English, Portuguese, and Cape Verdean Creole is required, with a strong understanding of Spanish.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PIP, workers' compensation, and other personal injury claims.
  • Strong communication skills when interacting with insurance companies and law offices.
