About the position

The Neurology Center of Southern California is seeking a Front Desk Medical Receptionist to become a valued member of our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients visiting our facility, which specializes in treating various neurological disorders such as movement disorders, dementia, multiple sclerosis, migraines, and epilepsy. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who possesses excellent communication skills and a strong desire to positively impact the lives of patients with neurological conditions. As a Front Desk Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, which includes greeting patients, scheduling appointments, handling patient inquiries, and ensuring a smooth flow of operations. It is essential to have great customer service skills, the ability to multi-task effectively, and the initiative to complete job duties in a timely manner. A positive and upbeat attitude is imperative, as you will be working in a fast-paced and progressive environment alongside a supportive team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working with patients and a good understanding of local HMO medical groups, PPO insurance, and Medicare. Proficiency in the Epic EMR system is a plus, as it is the electronic medical record system we utilize. Additionally, being bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments efficiently.
  • Handle patient inquiries and provide information about services offered.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure accurate data entry in the EMR system.
  • Process insurance verifications and manage billing inquiries.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support the medical team.
  • Ensure the front desk area is organized and welcoming.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients.
  • Familiarity with HMO medical groups, PPO insurance, and Medicare.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems, preferably Epic.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and a desire to work with patients.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience in a medical office setting.
