About the position
The Night Auditor at the Fairfield Inn in Evansville, Indiana, is responsible for reconciling hotel cashier transactions, compiling management reports, and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings. This role also involves performing guest service duties such as check-in and check-out, and effectively communicating with management and guests. The position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, particularly during overnight shifts.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile all hotel cashier transactions.
- Review, organize, and compile management reports in a timely manner.
- Ensure the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions.
- Perform guest service agent duties including check-in, check-out, and reservations.
- Communicate concerns and issues to all levels of management.
- Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
- Prepare and distribute daily and month-end reports as required.
- Audit and reconcile Front Desk and Food & Beverage Cashier's work.
- Input and update financial information into corporate communications network.
- Respond to governmental inquiries and handle guest requests.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field required.
- Guest service experience preferred.
- Computer knowledge and skills required.
- Ability to perform sedentary work and lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in hotel operations or accounting functions.
- Ability to cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
