About the position

The Howard Center for Women's Health is seeking a professional and friendly Front Desk Receptionist Float to join our busy GYN office located in Decatur, GA. This full-time position is crucial as you will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, playing a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operations within the office. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer literacy skills, excel in multi-tasking, and have a bubbly personality that reflects a high level of motivation and professionalism. As a Front Desk Receptionist Float, you will primarily be based in our Decatur office but will also be responsible for covering our Athens, Lawrenceville, and Covington offices as needed. Your duties will include greeting and welcoming patients and visitors with a warm demeanor, answering multiple telephone lines, scheduling appointments, and maintaining the appointment calendar. You will check patients in and out, verify insurance information, and collect necessary paperwork, ensuring that all patient records are updated accurately in our computer system. In addition to these responsibilities, you will assist with sending and receiving medical records, perform data entry tasks with accuracy, manage office supplies inventory, and maintain a clean and organized reception area. The position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities, as well as strong communication skills, both verbal and written. The ability to work well in a team environment is essential, and maintaining a positive attitude while multi-tasking is key to success in this role. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, with no weekends or holidays required.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to our Athens, Lawrenceville or Covington office when coverage is needed.
  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Answer multiple telephone lines.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar.
  • Check patients in and out, verify insurance information, and collect necessary paperwork.
  • Assist with patient registration and update patient records in the computer system.
  • Send and receive medical records.
  • Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a medical office is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient in using phone systems, computerized scheduling software, and other office equipment.
  • Strong typing skills with excellent accuracy.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
