The Front Desk Receptionist position at Advantage Health Centers is a vital role that encompasses a variety of administrative tasks essential for managing the business aspects of both medical and dental practices. Under the direction of the office manager, the receptionist will be cross-trained in both medical and dental front desk operations, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and staff alike. This position requires a proactive individual who can handle multiple responsibilities while providing excellent customer service. Key duties include answering telephone calls to schedule appointments, providing information, and taking messages. The receptionist will greet patients upon arrival, explain services, billing procedures, and costs for services, ensuring that patients feel welcomed and informed. Scheduling appointments in accordance with office policies and procedures is a critical function, as is assisting patients in filling out necessary forms for initial intake and yearly updates. The role also involves entering billing and collection data into the computer system, verifying insurance information, and obtaining necessary authorizations. The receptionist will retrieve patient charts and other information as required, file lab reports and documents in accordance with standard formats, and set up new dental and medical charts and accounts as needed. Additionally, the receptionist will enter provider schedules and make changes as necessary in the practice management system, perform all front office activities, and carry out other related duties as required. This position requires a strong understanding of customer service principles, HIPAA regulations, and the ability to communicate effectively with both the public and other employees. The ideal candidate will possess excellent computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and experience with dental and medical practice management software.
