About the position

This is a Pooled position. HCCH is not actively hiring a Front Desk Receptionist for this location but is accepting applications for future needs. The Dental Receptionist will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, maintaining the appointment book, and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed and entered into the practice's management software. The role requires confirming upcoming appointments, assisting the dentist and co-workers, and managing general office tasks. The receptionist will also be responsible for keeping the waiting area tidy and providing a pleasant experience for patients who may feel uncomfortable in a dental setting.

Responsibilities

  • In charge of scheduling patient appointments either in person or over the telephone.
  • Maintaining Appointment Book, follow up on no shows/cancellations of appointments and checking voicemail on a daily basis.
  • Ensures patients fill out all their paperwork, and then enters necessary information into the practice's management software.
  • Gather signatures and permissions to store patient information and approve procedures.
  • Confirm upcoming appointments in advance and notify the service provider of patient arrival.
  • Scan any documents related to the patient into the system.
  • Verify the eligibility of a patient's insurance and the frequency of visits.
  • Assist the dentist and co-workers as needed.
  • Manage general office tasks including mail, answering phones, and compiling end-of-day informational packets.
  • Keep the office waiting area neat and tidy.
  • Provide a pleasant and helpful environment for patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum one year of experience in an appointment scheduling position, preferably in a dental practice setting, insurance, and NC Tracks.
